A major clear-out is looming at Real Madrid this summer. While the Vinicius Junior situation remains a priority, the club is mainly preparing for a true revolution within its squad.
Real Madrid have struggled to find consistency this season. The Xabi Alonso experiment quickly turned into a failure and was abandoned, and although the team is still alive in the Champions League, things remain complicated in La Liga. So what’s the solution? Reshape the squad, of course. The defense is clearly under scrutiny. Between recurring injuries and the end of a cycle, David Alaba is heading toward an almost certain departure.
Defensive overhaul and midfield uncertainty
Antonio Rüdiger’s situation remains unclear: his performances are solid, but his contract raises questions. On the flanks, the outlook is even more decisive. Dani Carvajal, whose form has declined, could leave the club after more than a decade of loyal service. On the left side, Ferland Mendy, often injured, and Fran Garcia no longer seem to fit into the club’s plans.
In midfield, Eduardo Camavinga is not being pushed out, but he could serve as a “wildcard” on the transfer market. His value is attracting interest, and in the event of a major offer (at least €50 million), Real Madrid could consider selling him to finance their new project.
Behind all of this lies a clear idea: start a new cycle. The club wants to make room for its young talents and restore balance to a squad that has lost cohesion in recent months. Florentino Pérez is therefore preparing for a turbulent summer, with strong decisions ahead to usher in a new era in Madrid.
