Against all odds, Cristiano Ronaldo is staying at Al-Nassr.

Despite a cryptic farewell-style message earlier this week on social media, the Saudi club has successfully convinced the Portuguese star to extend his adventure. According to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, Ronaldo has agreed to a new two-year contract, keeping him in Riyadh until 2027—when he’ll be 42 years old.

A major win for Al-Nassr, who retains its global icon despite missing out on both the Asian Champions League and the Club World Cup. The club’s sporting director Fernando Hierro reportedly played a key role in the negotiations, showcasing just how far Al-Nassr was willing to go to keep their superstar.
