Gianluigi Donnarumma has officially parted ways with Paris Saint-Germain, signing a deal with Manchester City for a reported fee of €35 million, including bonuses.

At just 26, this marks a significant chapter in the young goalkeeper’s career and for PSG, as he transitions to one of the most formidable clubs in Europe.

Now a Citizen until 2030, he’s set to earn an estimated annual salary of €12 million, further solidifying his status in the elite tier of goalkeepers.

Donnarumma on Luis Enrique: Honesty and Respect

This transfer also signifies a historic first; since their acquisitions by Abu Dhabi in 2008 and QSI in 2011, City and PSG had never engaged in a direct transfer for their first teams. This move not only enhances City’s squad under Pep Guardiola but also reflects the changing dynamics in European football.

Before leaving, Donnarumma took a moment to express his feelings about Luis Enrique, the coach he worked with until Lucas Chevalier’s arrival. “I always had a great relationship with him. I appreciated his honesty with me,” he said.

While he acknowledged the disappointment of change, he emphasized the importance of his teammates’ support, highlighting that their backing made him realize his value to the team.
