Real Madrid and Vinicius Jr in Contract Extension Talks, but Negotiations Remain Complicated

Already under contract until 2027, Vinicius Jr has rejected Real Madrid’s first extension offer, as the club remains firm on its strict wage policy. The Gulf nation is reportedly ready to offer a €1 billion contract over five years to Vinicius Jr, along with a €300 million transfer fee this summer to convince Real Madrid. Saudi Arabia: A Growing Threat to Real Madrid

Since Karim Benzema’s departure, Vinicius Jr has become a key offensive player for Los Blancos. However, despite registering 16 goals and 10 assists in 28 games, his status has been slightly shaken following the arrival of Kylian Mbappé.

His on-field behavior has also raised concerns within the club, highlighted by a heated exchange with Luka Modric during the Copa del Rey quarterfinal against Leganés, where the Croatian midfielder criticized his lack of defensive effort. While Real Madrid aims to secure Vinicius Jr’s future, they now face stiff competition from Saudi Arabia, which continues to disrupt European football’s financial balance.
