Gouiri shines with a brace and impresses De Zerbi – Marseille is on the right track.

After scoring twice in OM’s 5-1 victory over Saint-Étienne, Amine Gouiri (24 years old) made a strong impression on his coach. Roberto De Zerbi praised his talent and urged him to specialize as a pure striker, believing he has the potential to become a top-level European player.

“He’s a very, very strong player. He must think of himself as a true No. 9. It’s always good to be versatile, but I’ve spoken to him, and I believe he needs to focus on this position. “What more could I have done? Score more goals and provide more assists. But I’m very happy and proud to have netted my first goals for Marseille, especially at home. Could I have had a better start? You can always do better, but these are good beginnings. And as they say, this is just the start—I hope to continue like this.”
