Angel Gomes and Jonathan David Leaving for Free – A Major Financial Setback for LOSC.
Bad news for LOSC: Angel Gomes and Jonathan David are expected to leave for free at the end of the season, meaning the club won’t receive a single cent from their departures. Despite securing a Champions League Round of 16 spot and holding a solid 5th place in Ligue 1, neither player has reconsidered their stance.
Angel Gomes (24) recently switched agencies, signing with ROOF, confirming his exit. Meanwhile, Jonathan David (25), while discreet about his future, has hinted at ambitions to play for a top European club.
This represents a huge financial loss for Lille, as both players are valued at a combined €70 million (€25M for Gomes, €45M for David). West Ham is reportedly interested in signing both for free this summer.
Lille will now have to plan for replacements, but for a club known for selling players at high value, these two free departures mark a significant failure in their transfer strategy.
