The Portuguese coach, under contract until June 2026, is already hinting at a possible exit after growing frustrated with ongoing criticism.
“Every day, people talk about my situation, and it’s unfair. I know what I want, I know what I can do. I see a lot of people talking about me, but the situation is simple: if they tell me ‘you’re no longer needed,’ I’ll pack my bags and leave without asking for a single euro more,” Conceição told the press.
“I didn’t come from nowhere—I have nearly 100 Champions League games, I’ve won 13 trophies, yet people keep talking about me. Coaches criticize me on match days. I have a family, people close to me, and they see a lot of negativity about me. And it’s not fair.”
Conceição’s frustration comes amid a difficult spell for Milan. Eliminated in the Champions League playoffs by Feyenoord (0-1, 1-1), the Rossoneri are currently 8th in Serie A, far from their ambitions. If results don’t improve soon, his tenure in Milan could be cut short much earlier than expected.
