Liverpool Huge Financial Loss for 2023-2024 Season

Liverpool released its financial report for the 2023-2024 season this Friday, announcing a record commercial revenue of €373 million (£300M) but also a pre-tax loss of €69 million.

The club’s absence from the Champions League significantly impacted its finances, leading to a €40M drop in media revenues, despite overall revenue increasing to €743.5M. Administrative costs also surged by €46M, reaching €727M, mainly due to salaries and management expenses.

However, the opening of Anfield’s new stand, increasing stadium capacity to 61,000 seats, brought in an additional €27M in revenue. Liverpool’s CFO, Jenny Beacham, emphasized the need for financial sustainability and continuous revenue growth to maintain the club’s stability.
