€17 million transfer deal

Bournemouth confirmed the signing on Monday afternoon. The French U21 international has signed a five-year contract. The transfer fee is €17 million (approximately £14.4 million), including €3.5 million in difficult-to-reach bonuses (around £2.65 million), according to French media.

Vice-Olympic champion with France in 2024, Truffert had attracted interest from abroad for months. His consistency, crossing ability, and relentless work rate on the left flank made him a strong candidate for Premier League football. In the end, Bournemouth’s project won him over, while Rennes was open to selling to generate funds.

A fresh start in England

Truffert now faces the challenge of adapting to the pace and intensity of English football. But with his experience in Ligue 1, tactical awareness, and physical maturity, he seems well-prepared.

Bournemouth continues to invest in promising, battle-tested talent. For Truffert, this move is the next step in an already solid career – and one that could propel him even higher.
