FC Barcelona have completed the signing of Joan Garcia, the breakout star of city rivals Espanyol. The Spanish goalkeeper joins the Blaugrana for €25 million (£21 million) after a standout season, beating interest from both Arsenal and Newcastle.

Garcia (24) has signed a six-year deal running until 2031. Fresh off winning Olympic gold in Paris, he’s seen as a long-term solution between the posts for Barça. The club triggered his release clause to seal the deal swiftly.
