Botafogo: Davide Ancelotti set to take over as head coach
Botafogo has found its new manager. According to Globo Esporte, Davide Ancelotti, son of Carlo Ancelotti and current assistant coach of the Brazil national team, has agreed to become the new head coach of the Rio-based club.
Despite having no previous experience as a head coach, Davide is ready to step up, after years working alongside his father at Real Madrid and now with the Seleção. Previously linked with Rangers, Como, and other clubs, the 35-year-old had already hinted he was ready to lead a team this season.
The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) has yet to formally approve his departure, but John Textor’s project appears to have won him over. A new chapter begins for Botafogo — and for the Ancelotti dynasty.
