Bayern Munich: Musiala seriously injured, but the club is “relieved”… here’s why.
The Bayern Munich vs PSG clash (0-2) in the Club World Cup left a bitter mark for the German side as Jamal Musiala suffered a fractured fibula following a collision with PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma. The images were shocking, showing the young midfielder’s ankle bent at a severe angle.
However, the medical update brought some relief. According to Sky Sport Germany, Bayern feared a much more complex injury, especially involving ligament or joint damage. The outcome, while serious, could have been worse.
Out until November
Musiala, who netted 21 goals in 43 appearances this season, will undergo surgery immediately upon returning to Germany, followed by a lengthy rehabilitation process. He’s expected to be sidelined for at least four months, with a return not anticipated before November.
It’s a major blow for both player and club — but given the gruesome nature of the injury, Bayern sees the diagnosis as the lesser of evils.
