Signed this summer by Paris FC, Kevin Trapp (35) won’t be the club’s first-choice goalkeeper. Coach Stéphane Gilli has made his decision clear: the former PSG shot-stopper will begin the season behind Obed Nkambadio in the pecking order.

Trapp, who went from Champions League nights to Ligue 1 survival battles, now faces a new reality — starting out as a backup.

Experience over status

Despite being signed on a three-year deal, Trapp is expected to play more of a mentoring role than a leading one. His European pedigree remains valuable, offering both competition and security should Nkambadio suffer a dip in form or injury.

Paris FC is betting on youth, but with the insurance of an experienced veteran ready to step in when needed.
