According to TNT Sports Brasil, Carlo Ancelotti has decided to leave Vinícius Júnior out of Brazil’s squad for their final 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
Madrid wins — Brazil backs off. Already qualified, the Seleção will face Chile on September 4 in Rio and Bolivia on September 9 without their Merengue stars. Ancelotti wants to give Vini a breather after a disrupted summer, marked by the Club World Cup.
A huge relief for Xabi Alonso, who gets his striker back fresh as Real’s season heats up.
Militao, Endrick, Rodrygo… also sidelined
Vinícius isn’t alone. Éder Militão, still regaining fitness after his knee injury, Endrick, barely used in Madrid so far, and Rodrygo, struggling for rhythm amid Manchester City transfer links, are all left out.
Instead, Ancelotti will count on Raphinha, Richarlison, Gabriel Martinelli, Matheus Cunha, Willian Estevão, and even a long-awaited Neymar return.
But for Rodrygo and Endrick, the next few months could be decisive — their 2026 World Cup dreams may be on the line.
