Ousmane Dembélé reached new heights on Monday at the Théâtre du Châtelet, being awarded the Ballon d’Or 2025. The PSG forward was overwhelmed with emotion as he accepted his trophy, receiving congratulations from around the globe.
Kylian Mbappé, who was absent along with the Madrid delegation, took to Instagram to congratulate his friend: “Ousmane Dembélé. These are the emotions, my brother! You deserve it x1000,” he wrote to his 126 million followers.
Across the Atlantic, Lionel Messi, an eight-time winner, also shared his joy: “Great Ous! Congratulations, I’m so happy for you. You deserve it!”
Neymar’s Anger Over Raphinha’s Ranking
However, not everyone was pleased. Neymar voiced his frustration over Raphinha’s fifth-place finish, stating, “Raphinha 5th? That’s a joke!” He didn’t extend any congratulations to Dembélé, with whom he has never played.
This 69th edition of the Ballon d’Or will be remembered for its emotional moments, tributes, and controversy, particularly from the Yamal family, who claim they were wronged.
