Real Madrid has Jude Bellingham back — but not quite the same one who set Europe on fire before Kylian Mbappé’s arrival. The English midfielder admits it himself: he’s still finding his rhythm, but insists the real Bellingham is on his way back.
Bellingham, finally free again? After a difficult 2024/2025 season marked by a dip in form, a shoulder operation, and tension with England boss Thomas Tuchel, Bellingham is finally emerging from the storm. In recent weeks, he’s looked more like his old self — decisive, confident, and back among the goals in the Champions League.
“I’m not at the same level as the first year”
Bellingham didn’t dodge the question about his drop in performance. “I don’t think last season was a disaster, but I wasn’t at the same level. I had surgery, there’s a new coach, a new style of play. It’s a learning process,” he told CBS.
Spanish media are already buzzing: “Bellingham is back, just in time for El Clásico,” wrote Marca, while AS hailed “a morale boost for Real Madrid.” After 204 days without scoring at the Bernabéu, the English star finally broke his drought.
And now, just days before El Clásico against Barcelona, Bellingham has the perfect chance to prove he’s truly back — and remind everyone he’s still one of the defining faces of Real Madrid’s Mbappé era.
