“No place for pigs in our club.” The banner was harsh, the message clear. Bayern Munich’s ultras put enormous pressure on the management after the club’s idea to integrate Jérôme Boateng into the medical staff.

As a result: Bayern backtracked, cooled by public anger. For reference, Boateng was fined €1.2 million in 2022 for violence against his ex-partner.

Bayern officially announced the reversal in a statement. After a “constructive” discussion with Boateng, the club announced that the internship will not take place: the former defender “does not wish for the club to suffer any harm” due to the growing controversy surrounding him.

Under pressure, the club retreats

On his social media, Boateng spoke out to calm the situation. He stated that an internship with Vincent Kompany “is no longer on the agenda” and that he prefers to focus on his coaching license and personal projects. He wishes the club to continue its “impressive streak of 13 consecutive victories.”

Bayern thought they were offering him a way back. The supporters slammed the door shut.
