OL is still in disbelief: the refereeing is under scrutiny from the players and staff, who believe that the four referees were on PSG’s side on Sunday night during the Ligue 1 clash.
Defeated at the very last second by PSG (2-3), the Lyonnais expressed their anger, feeling that the refereeing clearly influenced the outcome. In a heated locker room, the sense of injustice was unanimous.
For OL, the scenario is cruel: dominated at the end of the match, the Lyonnais thought they were holding on for a draw before Joao Neves’ header. Jorge Maciel did not hold back his words: “We saw the fouls, 59,000 people saw them. Except for four. They don’t need to play with 16…”
“The refereeing tonight is a catastrophe”
Corentin Tolisso also shared his frustration: “It’s frustrating. There are mistakes every weekend. We don’t understand. This is not what we were told at the beginning of the season.”
Matthieu Louis-Jean reinforced the point: “There is a penalty, there is a foul on Tessmann. Nothing is coherent. The refereeing tonight is a catastrophe.”
Even former players joined in: Alexandre Lacazette summarized the evening with a bitter tweet: “Not easy with 11 against 12.”
