It’s full-blown war between the Spanish FA (RFEF) and Barcelona. Lamine Yamal will miss Spain’s last two qualifying matches… and the Federation is pointing the finger straight at Barça.
The RFEF scrapped his call-up in a scathing statement, furious about the medical treatment imposed by Barcelona on their 17-year-old wonderkid. Tension had already been simmering for months over how the club manages Yamal, now it has erupted into open conflict.

Even worse: the national team only received a medical report at 22:40, stating the player needed 7 to 10 days of rest — a delay the Federation considers unacceptable and dangerous.

The result: the RFEF immediately “released the player,” claiming they were prioritising his health and well-being. But between the lines, the message is crystal clear: Barça made a major medical decision without informing the national team, breaking every protocol.
The statement tries to sound “professional,” but the attack is unmistakable. For the Federation, Barcelona put Yamal at risk. For the club, it was just routine medical care.
