Olympique de Marseille is preparing for a complete revolution behind the scenes. According to Foot Mercato, the major overhaul launched by Frank McCourt has already begun at La Commanderie, with a huge wave of changes expected in the coming weeks.
OM are set to change everything this summer. After a season marked by internal clashes, several heads are expected to roll. New club president Stéphane Richard is already working actively ahead of officially taking office on July 2. His absolute priority was finding a new sporting director… and Marseille may finally have their man: Grégory Lorenzi. Despite a few remaining details to settle with Nice, the former Brest executive is expected to join OM soon.
Major Changes Planned at Marseille
There is also significant movement on the bench. Habib Beye is more under pressure than ever after a disappointing season marked by failure in the Coupe de France and the absence of Champions League qualification. One name keeps returning as his possible replacement: Bruno Genesio, now available following his departure from LOSC Lille.
The major clean-up does not stop there. According to Foot Mercato, several important figures at the club are under threat. Pancho Abardonado could pay the price for serious internal accusations and may not survive this rebuild. Club doctor Damien Monnot is reportedly being pushed toward the exit after a season heavily impacted by injuries, while Alexandre Neyton, the head of security who arrived this winter, could also leave Marseille.
Amid this massive restructuring, some key figures remain protected. Titou Hasni, highly appreciated for his work with the club’s young players, still enjoys strong support internally after the success of the Minots in recent seasons. One thing is certain: Marseille is heading for an explosive summer.
