SSC Napoli could soon enter a completely new dimension… thanks to a staggering offer reportedly close to €2 billion.
According to The Athletic, club owner Aurelio De Laurentiis has received a massive proposal to sell the Italian giants. Could Napoli become the next European superpower? Just like Manchester City or Paris Saint-Germain in recent years, the Serie A side could soon change status both financially and globally.
Behind this spectacular move is an American consortium called Underdog Global Partners. The group reportedly sees Napoli as one of the most attractive football brands in Europe after the club’s impressive rise over the last few seasons. Despite the huge proposal, Aurelio De Laurentiis does not appear ready to let go of his crown jewel.
American investors dream of transforming Napoli
Owner of Napoli since 2004, the Italian businessman rebuilt the club after its historic bankruptcy and fall to Serie C before guiding it back to the top of Italian football, including two Serie A titles. Even after an initial rejection, discussions are reportedly continuing quietly behind the scenes.
According to The Athletic, the American investors also view Napoli as a strategic asset for a future NBA Europe franchise project, a growing topic that is beginning to shake up the European sports landscape.
