Being a global superstar and still shopping without being bothered? For Lamine Yamal, it is apparently still possible — at least in the United States. The young Spanish sensation was recently spotted inside a Walmart store in Georgia, far from the intense media attention that usually surrounds him.
A star in Spain, across Europe, and throughout Asia, yet still relatively unknown in the United States at just 18 years old. The FC Barcelona winger is one of the most popular footballers on the planet, but while walking through the aisles of the famous American retailer, almost nobody seemed to recognize him.
Yamal Enjoys a Rare Moment of Privacy
A video shared on social media showed Lamine Yamal shopping alongside several friends and family members. Only the person filming the scene appeared to recognize the Spanish prodigy, who was able to browse the store peacefully without being surrounded by fans seeking photos or autographs.
The player later posted several pictures on Instagram, including one showing him in the Walmart parking lot with a shopping cart full of groceries. It was an entirely ordinary scene, but one that has become increasingly rare for an athlete of his global profile.

Currently in the United States for the 2026 World Cup, Yamal is continuing his preparations with Spain after recovering from a hamstring injury. Spain will face Cape Verde on Monday in Atlanta, and coach Luis de la Fuente hopes to have his young star available from the opening match of the tournament.
