OGC Nice will not be changing ownership this summer after all. Although an agreement between INEOS and an American investor appeared possible, negotiations ultimately collapsed at the last minute.
The takeover has fallen through, leaving Nice without a new buyer. INEOS will not sell the club this summer as initially expected. According to Nice-Matin, the two parties failed to secure the guarantees needed to ensure the club’s long-term financial and sporting stability. As a result, the proposed sale has been abandoned.
INEOS Remains in Control of Nice
With no change in ownership on the horizon, Nice’s leadership has decided to move forward with preparations for next season. INEOS will retain control of the club and is already planning for the upcoming campaign.
Within the club structure, Maurice Cohen is expected to continue overseeing sporting operations. Meanwhile, Geoffrey Moncada is set to arrive in Nice once his contract with AC Milan expires on June 30, taking up the role of sporting director.
Several changes are also anticipated on the coaching side. Olivier Pantaloni currently appears to be the leading candidate to succeed Claude Puel and begin a new chapter in the history of the Riviera club.
