Borussia Dortmund could once again turn to Paris Saint-Germain to strengthen their squad. The German club are showing serious interest in Ibrahim Mbaye, regarded as one of the most exciting young prospects to emerge from the Parisian academy.
According to Mundo Deportivo, BVB are currently the most active club in the race for Mbaye. Dortmund are searching for a new winger following Karim Adeyemi’s move to FC Barcelona and have quickly identified the PSG youngster as a potential replacement.
Dortmund Open Talks With PSG Over Mbaye
Ibrahim Mbaye’s profile is particularly appealing to the German club’s hierarchy. Fast, direct and capable of playing in several attacking positions, the young Parisian fits Dortmund’s recruitment strategy of signing high-potential talents and developing them at the highest level. Talks have reportedly already begun with PSG to establish the conditions of a possible summer transfer.
PSG are not believed to be completely opposed to a departure. Several European clubs have made enquiries, but Dortmund now appear to be leading the race. The French champions would nevertheless expect a significant offer, with a fee close to €30 million potentially enough to unlock the deal.
That would be a substantial investment for a player still developing, but Dortmund have regularly spent heavily on young prospects before increasing their value. The situation could therefore accelerate quickly, with Mbaye potentially attracted by a project offering him more playing time next season.
