Bradley Barcola could leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer to join Liverpool. While no final agreement has been reached, the French winger is reportedly attracted by the Premier League and has given the green light for talks to continue. A transfer could also bring several million euros to Olympique Lyonnais.
Barcola’s departure from PSG is now considered a realistic possibility, although negotiations are still far from complete. The 23-year-old winger is said to be interested in Liverpool and has already held discussions with representatives of the Reds as well as their new head coach, Andoni Iraola.
PSG Hold Firm as Lyon Eyes Financial Windfall
Those talks reportedly confirmed mutual interest. According to L’Équipe, Barcola has given an agreement in principle, but not a binding contract. He has simply authorized both clubs to move forward with negotiations. Liverpool have also contacted PSG, who are no longer completely opposed to a transfer after Barcola decided not to extend his contract, which runs until June 2028. However, the two clubs remain far apart on the transfer fee.
PSG are reportedly demanding as much as €170 million to part ways with the former Lyon academy product. The valuation reflects both the length of his contract and the club’s determination not to undersell a player who has become one of Liverpool’s top attacking targets. Barcola is believed to want the discussions to progress quickly after being frustrated by his substitute role in the recent Champions League finals and no longer wishes to settle for a backup role in Paris.
Olympique Lyonnais are also following the situation closely. Although the club does not hold a sell-on clause, it could receive around 5% of the transfer fee through FIFA’s solidarity mechanism. If the deal reaches €170 million, Lyon would collect approximately €8.5 million—an impressive financial boost three years after selling Barcola to PSG for €45 million, plus an additional €5 million in bonuses.
