However, his brilliant goal was not enough for Inter Miami, as Columbus Crew eventually secured a 2-1 victory.
Miami have now gone five consecutive MLS matches without a win, extending a difficult run for the Florida franchise despite Messi still being capable of producing exceptional moments.
