Bad news for Paris Saint-Germain. Senny Mayulu will miss several weeks of action after suffering an injury while on international duty with France Under-21s. The young PSG midfielder has sustained a left thigh injury and is notably expected to miss the Champions League showdown against Manchester City.
Mayulu will miss the entire month of October with PSG. The 20-year-old was injured on Tuesday during France Under-21s’ 2-0 victory in Estonia. Forced to leave the pitch, he returned to Paris to undergo further medical examinations.
Mayulu set to miss Manchester City clash
The diagnosis has now been confirmed. In their medical update published on Thursday, PSG announced that Mayulu had suffered a left thigh injury and said he would “remain under treatment for the next few weeks.” The Parisian club has not given a precise date for his return, but according to L’Équipe, he is expected to be sidelined for around a month.
It is a significant absence for Luis Enrique, with PSG’s schedule set to become much more demanding after the international break. Unless he recovers faster than expected, Mayulu will miss several matches and is notably expected to be unavailable for Manchester City vs PSG in the Champions League on October 14.
PSG therefore lose another midfield option just as they prepare to enter a particularly busy period of the season.
