Big blow for Kevin De Bruyne. Victim of a serious hamstring injury during the clash against Inter (3-1), the 34-year-old Belgian playmaker is expected to be sidelined for 4 to 5 months. This Tuesday, the player underwent surgery… and everything went perfectly.
Kevin De Bruyne is still far from returning to the pitch, but the first step went well. The Napoli player was successfully operated on.
Napoli confirmed this in a statement: “Kevin De Bruyne underwent surgery today in Antwerp. The operation went perfectly. He will continue the first phase of his post-operative rehabilitation in Belgium.”
Return for the World Cup…
Operated under the supervision of Dr. Canonico, head of the Napoli medical staff, De Bruyne is now beginning a long recovery process. Naples hopes to have him back in full form by the end of the season… but the road will be long.
