The Antoine Kombouaré situation is becoming increasingly tense at Paris FC. Appointed last February as head coach of the Parisian club, the former FC Nantes boss still managed to do a solid job by keeping PFC on a positive path. But behind the scenes, the atmosphere has cooled significantly.
Under contract until June 2027, Kombouaré is no longer certain at all to continue the adventure. According to L’Équipe, there is still total uncertainty surrounding his future despite the good work he has done since arriving. Officially, the Kanak coach fully intends to be there when training resumes. “I will be there for the restart on Wednesday,” he reportedly said.

But behind that statement, the discomfort is very real. Paris FC are said to have raised doubts about Kombouaré’s ability to continue his mission, particularly because of his knee problems. For his part, the coach wanted strong guarantees over the quality of the squad for the coming season.
Above all, according to Le Parisien, Kombouaré’s attitude was not really appreciated internally. The coach reportedly asked for an additional one-year contract extension, along with a salary increase. A move that surprised, then annoyed, the Paris FC hierarchy.
As a result, the Parisian club now appears ready to turn the page. Despite his long contract running until 2027 and his positive record, Kombouaré could be pushed toward the exit if the situation is not resolved quickly. PFC have even reportedly already made progress on other options to prepare for life after him. Wednesday’s return to training therefore looks explosive. Kombouaré may well be present, as he says, but one question remains: will he still be Paris FC coach when they face Troyes? For now, nobody can guarantee it.
