Paul Pogba’s return to football is proving more complicated than expected. The midfielder will be eligible to play again in a few days, but he still hasn’t found a club.
Without a team since his contract was terminated by Juventus in November, Pogba has struggled to convince potential suitors. According to Le Corriere Dello Sport, he was offered to Fiorentina, and discussions were serious. The Italian club even considered a one-and-a-half-year deal, and Pogba had agreed to the terms. However, after multiple meetings, Fiorentina ultimately decided to walk away, citing concerns about their already well-stocked midfield and Pogba’s physical condition.
The 2018 World Cup winner must now continue his search for a club willing to take a chance on him. Olympique de Marseille is reportedly keeping an eye on his situation for the summer, but like Fiorentina, the French club chose not to take the risk this winter.
