Jonathan David is officially on the move. The Canadian striker will not renew with Lille and is set to leave as a free agent this summer after a strong season with 16 goals in Ligue 1.
While PSG and OM are out of the running, some major European clubs are circling. According to L’Équipe, Juventus, Napoli, Tottenham, and Aston Villa are all in talks with David’s camp—alongside a lucrative offer from a non-European league, described as financially “very tempting.”
Demanding a Hefty Deal
Per journalist Sacha Tavolieri, David is asking for:
- €9 million gross annual salary
- €15 million signing bonus
- €10 million in commissions, largely to agents
That brings the total cost of the operation to around €34 million—for a player who’s out of contract.
Prestige or Paycheck?
David, 25, is coming off his best statistical season and now faces a key career decision: pursue European glory or accept a massive financial offer from abroad.
Where he lands will depend on who’s willing to meet his terms—and whether football ambition or financial security wins out.
