Mohamed Salah has extended his stay at Liverpool until 2027, but as the Egyptian winger revealed to Sky Sports, he didn’t expect it to happen.

“I Think the Club Was Testing Me”And Perform He Did

The 32-year-old admitted he was ready for a departure at the end of the season, with PSG and Saudi clubs showing interest. “At the start of the season, I’d say I had a 10% chance of staying, considering the club’s history,” Salah explained.

“I Think the Club Was Testing Me”

Salah believes Liverpool wanted to assess his level before offering a new deal: “It took six months before the negotiations really started to move. From January, things improved. I think the club was testing me, to see if I could still perform.”

The Egyptian didn’t ask for a long-term extension either: “I just asked for two years, nothing more.”

And Perform He Did

With 28 Premier League goals this season, Salah passed the test with flying colors—convincing the club to break tradition and renew one of its legends.

From nearly gone to locked in until 2027—Salah’s story at Anfield continues.
