Paris Saint-Germain’s marathon 2024-2025 season ended with a humbling 3-0 loss to Chelsea in the Club World Cup final. While the players enjoy a well-deserved three-week break, Luis Campos is just getting started. The Portuguese sporting advisor now enters his favorite phase: trimming the squad.
Three Weeks to Make Room : The squad is set to regroup on August 4 at the PSG Campus for medicals, with training resuming the next day. Then comes the UEFA Super Cup against Tottenham on August 13. But before chasing more silverware, PSG must streamline a bloated roster.
Campos and Luis Enrique are aligned: none of last season’s loanees will stay, and several others are being shown the exit. The message is loud and clear.
Skriniar, Asensio, Moscardo… Headed Out
According to Le Parisien, Milan Skriniar and Marco Asensio are in talks with Fenerbahçe, though no deal has been finalized. Gabriel Moscardo, who missed the U.S. tour, is set for another loan—likely to Braga or Betis.
Other fringe players could also move on: Lucas Hernandez, Beraldo, Lee Kang-in, and Gonçalo Ramos may consider exits. Still, Beraldo’s entourage denies any departure request, and Ramos would only leave for the right offer—or if he pushes for it.
Reinforcements Incoming?
While selling is the focus, Campos is also eyeing reinforcements. Top priority: Ukrainian center-back Ilya Zabarnyi, though Bournemouth want €70 million. A versatile forward is also on the list, but no names have leaked yet.
Until the squad reports back, PSG’s dual mission is clear: trim the fat without damaging the team chemistry that defined their historic 2024-25 campaign.
