Mohamed Salah has no doubts about his football legacy — or at least he knows how to have fun with the topic.

In an interview with France Football, the Egyptian winger didn’t hesitate when asked who the greatest African footballer in history is: “Me,” he replied with a cheeky grin, before adding more diplomatically, “There are many, but I’d say George Weah, Didier Drogba, and Samuel Eto’o.”

At 33, Salah just wrapped up another sensational season, topping both the goals and assists charts in the Premier League. He’s firmly in the race for the 2025 Ballon d’Or — though competition is fierce, especially with Ousmane Dembélé leading PSG to a historic quadruple.

Salah has worked with some of the best managers in the game: Mourinho, Montella, Garcia… yet when asked about his favorite coach, he skipped over Jurgen Klopp — the man who helped define his Liverpool era — and instead praised Luciano Spalletti, under whom he thrived at AS Roma in 2016–17, scoring 15 goals and delivering 13 assists in Serie A.
