Mohamed Ajroudi had big dreams—very big ones. The 73-year-old Franco-Tunisian businessman made headlines in the summer of 2020 when he tried to buy Olympique de Marseille, with a star-studded project in mind.
A superstar OM never happened, but Ajroudi insists he was ready to go all in. Speaking this week on Thibaud Vézirian’s YouTube channel, he revealed his XXL vision: Zidane on the bench, Ronaldo leading the attack.
“My dream was to bring Zidane to OM. And up front, Cristiano Ronaldo,” he explained.
The OM Dream… now in Saudi Arabia?
That dream duo never set foot in Marseille. The takeover didn’t happen, and the fantasy remained just that. But Ajroudi claims his blueprint wasn’t lost: “Everything I wanted to do at OM is now happening in Riyadh or Jeddah. That program is being applied there.”
An ambitious vision that may never have had a real shot—but it definitely got some fans dreaming, if only for a summer.
