Paris Saint-Germain appears to have locked in their next goalkeeper. Lucas Chevalier (23), the French international currently at Lille, is edging closer to a move to the capital.
According to L’Équipe, talks between PSG and LOSC are progressing well. However, the deal is on hold until Lille secures a replacement. Robin Roefs (22, NEC Nijmegen) was a target, but with Sunderland finalizing a £10M (€12M) deal, that option seems off the table — delaying the green light.
On PSG’s side, everything is set. Luis Enrique has long approved Chevalier’s profile, valuing his composure and footwork — key qualities in Enrique’s possession-based system. A Sky Sports DE source confirms: “Chevalier is confident with the ball, and Luis Enrique wants a keeper like him.”
Donnarumma exit looming
As Chevalier prepares to arrive, Gianluigi Donnarumma is heading toward the exit. Still under contract until 2026, the Italian has failed to agree on an extension due to salary disputes — he wanted a raise, while the club offered performance-based terms.
One dressing room source put it bluntly:
“When Chevalier arrives, Donnarumma will leave. He can’t afford to be benched a year before the World Cup.”
Luis Campos has been working on this deal for two years, and Chevalier could be in the squad as early as the UEFA Super Cup. The countdown has begun.
