The story between Gianluigi Donnarumma and Paris Saint-Germain is coming to an end. With France international Lucas Chevalier (23) arriving from Lille to take over, the 26-year-old Italian goalkeeper, under contract until 2026, is preparing to leave Paris behind.

According to Le Parisien, the breaking point came during contract talks. Donnarumma had agreed to some concessions, but negotiations collapsed when his wage demands were deemed excessive. “He was offered a new deal that would have made him, once again, one of the best-paid goalkeepers in the world, but he wanted more. Luis Enrique then said: fine, let’s move on,” revealed a source close to the matter.

“There’s a lot of emotion around this case. But we have a clear conscience and respect Gianluigi,” said an internal voice, regretting what they call a distorted narrative from the player’s entourage. A chapter is closing for PSG — and now all eyes turn to Donnarumma’s next destination.
