Paris FC thought they could rattle Marseille on Saturday at the Vélodrome. After fighting back from 0–2 down to 2–2, they collapsed late and suffered a heavy 2–5 defeat. Coach Stéphane Gilli didn’t mince his words, blaming individual errors for the setback.
“It’s too many mistakes, and we pay for them immediately,” Gilli told beIN Sports. “We had the chance to go 3–2 up through Ilan (Kebbal), but at this level, every mistake costs you.”
Crisis after 2 games ? Not yet but…
Goalscorer Ilan Kebbal echoed his coach’s frustration: “We still don’t understand that you can’t make these mistakes at this level. It’s frustrating. We did the hard part by coming back, but the truth is we just got promoted. It’s not a crisis yet—we knew it would be tough. We’re fighting for survival.”
With two defeats in two games, the promoted side must now regroup quickly. Next week’s clash against fellow newcomer Metz already feels like a must-win. Fail again, and Paris FC could face its first real crisis of the season.
