Adrien Rabiot looked destined to leave Marseille after his violent altercation with Jonathan Rowe left him frozen out of the squad. But on Saturday night, Roberto De Zerbi shocked many by extending an olive branch to the midfielder after OM’s 5-2 win over Paris FC.
“It’s about more than the player’s value—it’s about the person he is,” De Zerbi explained. “Even if he made a mistake, I hope there’s a way to put things back together.”
Rabiot, who has already apologized to his teammates and club officials, still wants to stay at OM. He remains hurt by how the episode unfolded and is not enthusiastic about the clubs that have shown interest.
