Luis Enrique is living a nightmare. Just four days before a decisive Champions League trip to Barcelona, PSG lost two more key players on Saturday against Auxerre (2-0): Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Vitinha.
Captain for the night, Vitinha was forced off after only 35 minutes, right after providing the assist for Zabarnyi’s opener.
Meanwhile, Kvaratskhelia, limping, didn’t return after half-time and was replaced by Bradley Barcola. Two huge blows adding to an already endless injury list.
PSG: seven injured stars, a nightmare scenario
Paris now counts seven major absentees: Marquinhos (quadriceps), Dembélé (thigh), João Neves (hamstring), Désiré Doué (calf), Fabián Ruiz (muscular issue), plus Vitinha and Kvaratskhelia. Practically a full starting XI stuck in the medical room, right before the Montjuïc showdown.
Even Luis Enrique, usually calm and collected, couldn’t hide his concern: “It’s not positive… we need to wait for the medical staff tomorrow or the day after,” he admitted.
Behind the cautious words lies a brutal reality: PSG could face Barça without half of its starters. An injury crisis at the worst possible time.
