Lucas Digne shows his injury after a violent tackle against Tottenham… and it sends chills down the spine. A huge gash on his foot.

Lucas Digne did not hide his anger. Seriously injured on the foot during Aston Villa’s victory against Tottenham (2-1) on Sunday, the French left-back left the field furious, before sharing an impressive photo of his injury on Instagram.

The 31-year-old defender was the victim of a strong tackle from Kevin Danso in the 50th minute. The former Lens player was not even cautioned, which infuriated Digne. Despite a visible gash just above his foot, the player held his position until the 82nd minute, before being substituted, very angry, even showing his leg to the fourth official.

A strong message as Aston Villa remains on five consecutive victories in all competitions. Unai Emery’s team will travel to the Netherlands this Thursday to face Go Ahead Eagles in the Europa League. It remains to be seen if Digne, injured but combative, will recover in time for this European encounter.
