An improbable scene in the FA Cup: the St Albans mascot was filmed in an advanced state of drunkenness.
Alcohol is part of football in England, and even mascots take advantage of it. The mascot of the small club St Albans was seen staggering during the match of their team. A behavior so typical that supporters summarized the situation in a phrase that went viral: “The most British thing we’ve ever seen.”
Clearly very motivated to cheer on their team, perhaps a bit too much, the mascot had to be escorted off the field after stumbling and causing chaos on the sidelines. A performance more reminiscent of a pub than football.
