Could Christophe Galtier make a return to Ligue 1? Three years after leaving Paris Saint-Germain, the French coach is still working abroad but has not ruled out a return to the French league. With his contract at Neom set to expire next June, he is keeping all options open regarding his future.
Christophe Galtier has travelled extensively since leaving PSG in 2023. After a spell with Al-Duhail in Qatar, the French coach joined Neom in Saudi Arabia. However, his time away from France may not last forever. The former Saint-Étienne, Lille and Nice manager still has a special attachment to Ligue 1 and, speaking to Le Parisien about the next stage of his career, made it clear that returning to France remains a possibility.
Galtier Keeps the Door Open to Ligue 1
“I will never close the door on France or on ‘my’ league, that is certain,” he said. Galtier, however, is not targeting any particular destination and could also continue his career abroad. “It is possible that I will stay overseas, in Saudi Arabia, Asia, South America, Europe or elsewhere. I don’t know what will happen,” the former PSG coach added.
One thing is certain, however: Christophe Galtier has no plans to retire from coaching. At 60, the Frenchman says he will remain a coach “for at least another three years.” With his Neom contract expiring next June, his name could therefore naturally emerge as an option for Ligue 1 clubs if managerial positions become available.
