Under contract with Al-Ittihad until June 2026, N’Golo Kanté leaves the door open for a potential return to Ligue 1 at the end of his career.
N’Golo Kanté does not rule out a return to Ligue 1. In an interview with “Téléfoot,” the 2018 World Cup champion was cautious but not closed off: “You never know,” he remarked, while emphasizing that he is focused on his season in Saudi Arabia.
At 34 years old, the former Caen player could join the wave of World Cup champions returning to France, following Giroud at Lille, Thauvin at Lens, and Pogba at Monaco. Paris FC had already tried to sign him last summer, unsuccessfully, and could make another attempt during the winter transfer window.
For now, Kanté simply wants to enjoy “to the fullest” the years he has left. But the idea of a comeback in Ligue 1… is certainly not to be ruled out.
