Mohamed Salah (33 years old) expressed his anger after the 3-3 draw at Leeds, his third consecutive match starting on the bench in the Premier League. Just days before joining the national team for the Africa Cup of Nations, the Liverpool winger delivered a particularly direct message.
But what is happening with Mo Salah? Almost on his way out last summer, he ultimately extended his contract with Liverpool thinking he would still have a central role… but that is not the case. The Egyptian has been relegated to the bench by Slot, and he does not like it.
“This is not acceptable for me. I don’t know why this is happening to me. I feel like I’m being thrown under the bus… as if I’m the problem. I don’t think I am the problem. I had a good relationship with the manager, and suddenly, nothing. I don’t know why,” he stated to TV2 Sport.
Salah talks about leaving
Salah even admitted to feeling unwanted: “I feel like someone no longer wants me at the club. We’ll see. I just want to enjoy the game, even when I’m not playing. The match at Anfield is coming: I will greet the supporters, I will play if I get the chance, then I will go to the Africa Cup of Nations… and honestly, I don’t know what will happen next.”
