A wildly absurd rumour has been circulating on X in recent days: the Premier League had supposedly decided to ban knee-slide celebrations starting January 1st, with an automatic yellow card as the penalty. The reasons cited? “Turf burns” and “joint strain.” Quite something.

No, the Premier League has not banned knee-slide celebrations (though the Internet had a good laugh). Naturally… it’s 100% false.
