Paris Saint-Germain are trying to make the most of the final hours of the transfer window to complete their squad. Following the departures of Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye, the capital club would still like to sign a defender and an attacking player before the market closes on Tuesday at 7:59 p.m. in France.
PSG are searching, but the deals are proving particularly difficult to complete. According to PSGInside-Actus, Paris have explored several options in recent days, both in defence and attack. Marc Pubill, Javi Rodríguez, Guéla Doué, Eli Junior Kroupi and Folarin Balogun have all been considered, without any decisive breakthrough so far.
Five transfer targets slip away from PSG
Three defensive options have fallen through. Atlético Madrid reportedly immediately ruled out selling Marc Pubill, while Celta Vigo preferred to keep Javi Rodríguez because they would not have enough time to find a replacement. Guéla Doué was reportedly receptive to PSG’s interest, but Désiré Doué’s brother had already given his word to Bayer Leverkusen by the time Paris returned to the negotiating table.
The situation is equally complicated in attack following Barcola’s move to Liverpool and Mbaye’s departure for Aston Villa. PSG reportedly made enquiries about Eli Junior Kroupi, but Bournemouth have no intention of selling the striker. Folarin Balogun was another player considered, although the forward ultimately preferred to continue his career in the Premier League, effectively ending that possibility for Paris.
PSG therefore find themselves in a difficult position, with five potential deals already cooling or completely falling through and time running out. Paris still have a few hours to identify a last-minute opportunity, with the priority now to avoid ending the transfer window with a squad lacking depth, particularly in defence and attack.
