At Paris Saint-Germain, the management of attacking leaders is entering a turbulent phase. Both under contract until June 2028, Ousmane Dembélé and Bradley Barcola embody two major—and potentially explosive—cases.
PSG is heading into a pivotal year with a clear equation: extend or sell. The Dembélé situation looks the most sensitive. According to Le Parisien, the club does want to extend the 28-year-old forward, Ballon d’Or 2025 winner, but under strict conditions. The board aims to impose its new wage structure: a fixed salary combined with a variable portion tied to the number of matches played.
Contract Uncertainty at the Heart of PSG’s Project
The problem is that the former Rennes player currently earns around €20 million per year, making it difficult for him to fit into this model—especially as his season has once again been marked by repeated stays in the medical room. While discussions have not officially begun, this issue could quickly become a real source of tension.
Behind him, the Barcola file also requires close attention. Courted last summer by Bayern Munich and Liverpool FC, the 23-year-old forward has already received an initial contract extension offer from PSG—without success.
Talks were notably slowed by a change of agent for the former Lyon player, but the club hopes to restart negotiations in the coming weeks. Once again, time is running out.
