On Sunday, during the Ligue 1 match won by Paris Saint-Germain against Paris FC (2–1), the atmosphere at the Parc des Princes sparked controversy. On two occasions, the stadium announcer stepped in to calm the crowd after insulting chants aimed at Marseille supporters, future opponents of PSG in the Trophée des Champions, who were labeled “rats.” In stoppage time, referee Benoît Bastien even went so far as to interrupt the match to warn the benches.

Luis Enrique’s irritation did not go unnoticed. The PSG coach did not appreciate seeing the Paris derby halted by the referee, a decision that clearly angered him. After the match, the Parisian manager wanted to clarify his position.

The matches go on. Here, at the Parc, the game is interrupted. I have the feeling that only the chants at the Parc des Princes are considered a problem.”
