Is Ruben Amorim already heading back to Portugal? Sacked by Manchester United on Monday, the Portuguese coach is immediately being linked with Benfica, who could be ready to turn the page on José Mourinho in the coming months.
Things move fast in the coaching market. Nothing is going right anymore for José Mourinho at Benfica. The Special One is angry with his players, and the club is already thinking about a replacement… even though he only arrived at the start of the season.
Amorim in Pole Position for the Benfica Job
And who would replace him? Ruben Amorim, of course. The Portuguese coach, just dismissed by Manchester United, could therefore bounce back in his home country almost immediately.
Already mentioned last summer by João Noronha Lopes, an unsuccessful presidential candidate, Amorim is once again becoming a very serious option as Mourinho sits on an ejector seat.
Benfica are only third in the league, ten points behind Porto, and patience is wearing thin. According to Confidential, Amorim is even in pole position to take over the Lisbon bench this summer. From United to Benfica in a few months: the express comeback is underway.
